Radiant Energy

Radiant energy is basically using the energy of electromagnetic waves.

Examples of such work include Nikola Tesla’s Magnifying Transmitter, T. Henry Moray’s Radiant Energy Device, Edwin Gray’s EMA Motor, and Paul Baumann’s Testatika Machine all run on Radiant Energy.

It is interesting to note that Radiant Energy is a natural energy and can produce the same energy as electricity but at a much lower cost.  It doesn’t behave in the same way as electricity which has lead to many taking a cautious approach to this for of energy. Interestingly it can be produced from the environment which would make it an ideal form of energy for the future.

The Methernitha Community in Switzerland currently has 5 or 6 working models of fuel-less, self-running devices that tap this energy.

The reasons why we are not pursuing these free energy sources vary and often stray into the territory of conspiracy theories. But feel free to check them out for yourself for you to decide.

Permanent Magnets

A permanent magnet is an item made from a substance which is magnetised and creates its own persistent magnetic field. An example of this would be something like a fridge magnet. Our example today comes from Dr. Tom Bearden he has two working models of a permanent magnet powered electrical transformer. It uses a 6-watt electrical input to control the path of a magnetic field coming out of a magnet. By channeling the magnetic field, first to one output coil then a second repeatedly and rapidly, the device can produce a 96-watt electrical output with no moving parts. Multiple inventors have working mechanisms that produce torque from permanent magnets alone.

Super-Efficient Electrolysis

Super-Efficient Electrolysis occurs when water is broken down into hydrogen and oxygen using electricity. When water is hit with its own molecular resonant frequency, it collapses into hydrogen and oxygen gas with very little electrical input. Hydrogen fuel can drive engines (like in your car) for only the cost of water which can only be great news for motorists throughout the world.

Only four per cent of all hydrogen produced worldwide is the result of water electrolysis. The electrodes used in the process are not yet efficient enough, large-scale application is not profitable. “To date, hydrogen has been mainly obtained from fossil fuels, with large CO2 volumes being released in the process,” says Wolfgang Schuhmann. “If we succeeded in obtaining hydrogen by using electrolysis instead, it would be a huge step towards climate-friendly energy conversion. For this purpose, we could utilise surplus electricity, for example generated by wind power.”

Even more amazing is the fact that a special metal alloy was patented by Freedman (USA) in 1957 that spontaneously breaks water into hydrogen and oxygen with no outside electrical input and without causing any chemical changes in the metal itself. This means that this special metal alloy can make hydrogen from water for free, forever.

Cold Fusion

Cold Fusion or alternatively known as Heat Effect AHE, was initially thought to be little more than a gimmick, but over time it has been proven that cold fusion is real and is here to stay. Not only has excess heat production been repeatedly documented, but also low energy atomic element transmutation has been catalogued, involving dozens of different reactions.

Hydrogen is the most abundant element in the universe. On Earth, hydrogen is found in water. An energy source from hydrogen is clean, with no carbon-dioxide CO2 emissions. In LENR reactions, only tiny amounts of the hydrogen are consumed and the metal is recyclable when spent.

The Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency, known as DARPA, did its own analysis and 60 Minutes obtained an internal memo that concludes there is ‘no doubt that anomalous excess heat is produced in these experiments.'”
This technology does appear to have some merit and may soon produce low cost energy and scores of other important industrial processes. Looking ahead there does exist various free or low cost energy sources and surely it is only a matter of time before we can reign back our current form of energy.

Kinetic Energy

Kinetic Energy is the Energy developed by its own movement and although any moving object whether vertical or horizontal, will contain this energy there are a number of differing types.

Vibrational – The Energy produced by the vibrating of an object.

Rotational – The energy produced by a rotating object.

Transational – The energy resulting in the movement of an object from one place to the next.

There are even more examples including Thermal, Sound, Electrical and Radiant.

In most instances however when we are talking about Kinetic Energy we are usually meaning the energy produced by the movement of an object from one location to another (Transational Energy). In this example we are using two variables t mass of the object and the speed of it.

The equation of Kinetic Energy (KE)

KE = 0.5 • m • v2

m = mass of object & v = speed of object

I came across another great post about how we can harness the power from various examples of each of the above examples which you can see using this link from Altenergymag.com. It gives some really good ‘real world examples’ of how these energies can work.

When taking renewable energies into account it is also interesting to see how Kinetic Energy is currently being used constantly because we always see motion all around us, so in order to harness this energy for our advantage we just need to consider how to do so in a clean and safe environment.

When any item accelerates or decelerates, the energy from its motion can be used or even stored up for future use. The automotive industry have being doing just  that for a number of years, the excess energy given by slowing down or stopping is stored in additional banks of batteries, these hybrid cars as they are termed used both the engine and the batteries to power the vehicles.

Another example is radiant energy, which is simply energy that travels in waves. It’s the energy given off by electromagnetic radiation and is a form of kinetic energy, since the particles are moving as they carry light, heat, and radiation from one source to another. It can be released as normal light and it is the result of a change in the arrangement of electrons.

Electromagnetic radiation is really just a stream of photons moving around which creates heat or light can be seen as photons in the form of radiant energy.

There are plenty more examples of Kinetic Energy being used by home and industry, you just need to look around you.

Big Expectations For Offshore Wind Power

Offshore Wind Power means building Wind Farms out in the ocean, the reason is obvious, we need to add to our growing numbers of reliable alternative power source and we know that there is often a breeze at the very least when you get onto the open

sea and clear of hills and buildings which can often obstruct wind thereby reducing its power.

So while the electricity supply is likely to be higher from Offshore Wind Farms due to its unobstructed placement the cost of building them at sea along with other associated problems is more likely to be higher. Another factor in favor of placing these wind farms at sea is that the opposition to their planning applications is much reduced when compared to their land based rivals, there are still the occasional protests where people object when there is concern from fishermen if they are fishing in the area or from groups concerned about their existence affecting sea life etc.

At the moment Europe is the leading provider of electricity coming from wind farms and they cover many areas around the North Sea, with the very first farm being built in Denmark in 1991.

But in just a short time 23 years later there were 69 offshore wind farms in existence throughout the seas around Europe with an average annual rated capacity of 482 Mega Watts (MW). However by early 2014 the United Kingdom had the largest number of offshore wind farms with 3,681 MW, followed by Denmark, then Germany, Holland, Sweden, Finland, Ireland, Spain, Norway and Portugal giving European production a total capacity of 6,562 MW as at January 2014 and this figure continues to grow year on year.

wonder that our future energy requirements are once again a hot topic. So what of Fuel cells and may they represent a solution? or not, and if so, will it be coming sooner rather than later?

So What Is A Fuel Cell? By all accounts it is a general phrase which is used by many in the Renewable Energy Circles. But regardless of the design, a fuel cell is essentially a cell possibly like a battery (maybe a bit larger) in which a chemical process occurs to produce electricity. In this example, the fuel is hydrogen. The basic idea is to combine hydrogen with oxygen in a process that produces electricity. This electricity is then used as we would normally use it in our homes or for much larger cells, the car or possibly in the workplace.

But if you read the papers or watch the television, you could be forgiven for thinking that the concept of hydrogen fuels is a new one, but I can assure you, that it isn’t. The first one was created in 1839. The problem, of course, was that it was inefficient, the call was too heavy and the hydrogen too expensive, plus there wasn’t much interest at that time since fossil fuels like coal and gas were being used in bulk and the need at that time just wasn’t there.
It wasn’t until the 1960s that much interest was shown in the energy platform.

We we’re just starting to hear the first little reports of our energy usage was starting to show signs that it would soon begin to exceed its production. But at that time including the 1970’s through to the 1990’s we continued using more and more energy as every household had at least one television, a washing machine, a drier and more and more until our houses were full of energy hungry devices and of course a car or two in the family. But still we were not really bothering about the odd reports filtering through about climate change or our energy resources starting to run short. We were gadget hungry and we all bought into the consumer fury and desire to have each new gadget that was introduced throughout this period and beyond.
NASA was leading the field when it came down to new energy technologies and it was they who decided to use fuel cells to power the Gemini and Apollo spacecrafts. Unfortunately, the trick has been translating this limited use to wide spread applications in daily our everyday world.

A common misconception is that a fuel cell represents renewable energy. But that is very clearly not the case. It does not, it is a device only and not an energy platform. It is like saying a hydroelectric dam is a renewable energy. The dam is a creation or a tool which has been made to harness a particular renewable energy resource, but definitely not an energy source in itself. The fuel cell can be viewed in the same way. It is a tool made for harnessing energy from hydrogen. The method itself can be clean or dirty depending on whether water or coal is used as the base material. Obviously, coal is not much help.

Theoretically fuel cells can run on any material which contains Hydrogen but the primary goal would preferably water and other sources of renewable type fuels, but as water is generally free, clean and readily available to most areas. Especially when you see the clean by product which results from Hydrogen being used in the process as there is no other pollution to be had that could add to the “green house gas effect”

There are a few hurdles that must be overcome before hydrogen fuel cells become a really viable energy source. First, the fuel cells are far too large and heavy to be used for practical purposes. This is the main reason why the hydrogen car is not currently shown to be a viable option because of the overall weight is too much, having said that the engineers from Germany are still evaluating their own hydrogen fuelled cars.
The second problem is one of cost, the overall cost of trying to run a car on a Hydrogen fuel cell is far too high. Currently, fuel cells are producing energy at a minimum cost of about ten times that of fossil fuels, making it far too expensive at this time.

While this is the present situation we know from our history that situation like these often result in last minute breakthroughs, often from some back yard engineers tinkering away in his garage. He may simply think of a simple solution one day and come up with a real viable solution.
If a Hydrogen bomb can be built, then surely we can build a hydrogen fuel cell at a reasonable cost at a reasonable weight.
